The Best Beauty Looks Seen at New York Fashion Week
For those of us invested in beauty, Fashion Month is kind of like the Olympics. No, really. You want every show in every city to be full of creativity, inspiration, and innovation, just like you want every country competing to do their best because the athletes have worked so hard. But you pay extra-special close attention to your country's team—or in the case of Fashion Month, New York Fashion Week—and root especially hard for gorgeous hair, makeup, and nail ideas.
Even if we weren't putting together this collection of the best beauty looks at the New York Fashion Week shows, we'd be taking our own personal notes for what trends to hop on early. But we're more than happy to share the looks that caught our eyes and will influence our getting-ready sessions for months to come.

The makeup at Marc Jacobs followed an old-fashioned rule in a modern way: bold lips or bold eyes, but never both at the same time. Makeup artist Thomas de Kluyver gave some models super-dark lips, skipping eye makeup altogether, while others wore graphic liner or a bright shadow with an otherwise bare face. And speaking of bare, nails were left entirely unpolished—just some Jinsoon Primrose + Honeysuckle Healing Cuticle Oil. Although some models wore their hair down and others with low, loose ponytails, anyone with hair long enough to part parted it in the middle, and stylist Holli Smith used Oribe Superfine Strong Hair Spray to set the styles.

Even if the chill in the air is finally fading, models at Ralph Lauren are still sporting a cold-girl flush with bright pink blush almost fully covering the cheeks in a nearly triangular shape. The rest of the makeup was kept light and fresh, with barely-there lip color and extra-soft eyes. Hair was worn loose in a variety of natural textures, and—perhaps indicative of a burgeoning pattern—nails were left perfectly plain.

Although they each wore their hair in different ways, models of all genders at Fang were united by one distinct makeup moment: shimmering, dark gray eyeshadow on just the inner corners of the eyes. Makeup artist Zenia Jaeger's gunmetal look carried over into the manicures, with some models walking the runway in extra-long, squared off, nearly black, metallic nails.

The clothing vibes were oversized and slouchy on the Tory Burch runway, but the hair was quite the opposite. Guido Palau gave the models slicked-back styles to balance the looseness of the looks. Some walked the runway with creative twists on a classic braid, separating them into upper and lower tiers that created a horizontal part on either side of the head.

If you've ever struggled with blending multiple shades of eye shadow or worried if your placement was correct, Carolina Herrera's Fall 2026 runway makeup offers you an easy solution: Just cover your entire lid in one shade. Makeup artist James Kaliardos gave models abulously bright hues, like metallic shocking pink, entirely around their eyes, while others wore more neutral tones—think browns and grays—from lashline to brow.

May this runway moment put to rest any generational debate about the coolness of a side part. The vast majority of Zankov's models took to the catwalk wearing a decisive side part, regardless of curl pattern—a trend seen throughout New York Fashion Week. Hairstylist Junya Nakashima tucked or pinned hair loosely behind the ears, creating a piecy swoop across the forehead.

Easily one of the more playful looks of this New York Fashion Week, Proenzer Schouler's faces experiment with an indecisive or perhaps distracted makeup look. De Kluyver sent some down the runway with eyeliner along one bottom lashline and one top lashline, while others displayed artistically incomplete lipstick applications. Hair was often loosely pulled back by Smith, as if to suggest really rushing out the door.

“We embraced the idea of surrealism by transforming the hair into a sculptural accessory,” says Tresemmé lead hairstylist Lacy Redway, who created a snood-like hairstyle for many of the models walking the Christian Siriano runway. It created a 360-degree frame around a vampy, Morticia-like makeup look that includes the unusual but incredible combo of smoky shadow with a graphic wing, deep, glossy lips, and undeniably glowing skin care of Siriano's new beauty brand, aptly named Runway Skincare.

The elegance of Pamella Roland's collection carried over into the show's makeup look by Rick DiCecca, which strongly conveyed classic glamour. Fully, darkly lined eyes were topped off with long, wispy lashes, but the true-red lips were the focus. Fans of matchy-matchy lips and nails will appreciate that the model manicures by Pattie Yankee took a hue cue from the lipstick, with a timeless, deep red on moderate-length nails.

The 1960s-meets-new-romantic influence on the Anna Sui beauty look came through loud and clear, both in the hair and makeup. “We wanted to put our own spin on it with a '60s approach to the side part, a Bardot-inspired top knot, and natural texture," said lead hairstylist Garren. “The idea is, you have a healthy scalp, root lift, soft, flowing hair, and then it gets ethereal. I don’t like when things look so placed.” He used R+Co Bleu products to achieve the look, including Root Booster Volume Spray to really get that undone oomph. Pat McGrath, on the other hand, kept things sharp with a precise, metallic, winged eye look and dramatic lower liner care of her PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil.
11/14Alice + Olivia: Opulently Topped Nails
Alice + Olivia's collection is a celebration of the Gilded Age and Victorian glamour, and that was clearly reflected in a very modern way: nail art. Miss Pop worked with Sally Hansen to create four designs for the models to wear, including a peachy pink polish with diamond-like gems in a golden, floral setting, an icy blue with a single pearl in a simple gold setting, gold foil on black polish, and a gold chain across black polish. (So much gold!) For the hair, Redway created loose, romantic braids topped off with Amika's Soulstruck Nourishing Dry Hair Mask to keep them soft and luminous. Meanwhile, models got their glowing skin with Westmore Beauty Supreme Creme, an all-in-one foundation, concealer, and moisturizer.
12/14LaQuan Smith
In case you hadn't noticed yet, bold, graphic liner is making a major comeback, and LaQuan Smith is clearly on board. Makeup artist Raisa Flowers didn't hold back with the intense black liner on Smith's models, fully enveloping the eye and winging it out beyond the end of their brows. Manicurist Gina Edwards kept the sharpness going by customizing Kiss press-ons, including a dark chrome and a classic French manicure called Fascinating, into a stiletto shape.
Victor Pagan13/147 for All Mankind: The Cool Girl Hair Tuck
You've seen some of the coolest cool girls and stylish celebrities doing it, and now it's finally made its way to the runway: the hair tuck. If a model with long hair was wearing a scarf or a high collar, hairstylist Anthony Turner hid the lower half of their length in the fabric, creating a faux-bob look. If your attempt leads to a few long pieces flowing out, let it happen—on the catwalk, it only added to the coolness.

No need to shave off your eyebrows and draw them back on: This monochromatic look will still pop with your natural brows. Models had a nearly neon, perfectly diffused peach splashed all over their brows, with the soft yet unignorable hue painted glossily on their lips.
